Fun with Leftover Sauces

Last year I bought these super cute ice cube trays to make jello stars for July 4th.  They ended up being terrible jello molds, but wonderful for freezing leftover sauces, broths, and other liquids!  Now any time I have leftover tomato sauce, chicken broth, etc., I just freeze it in these adorable trays and get out whatever I need the next time I need it.

I also use large and small muffin tins for the same thing.

These are particularly good for when you just need a little bit of liquid in a pan so whatever you're cooking won't stick.  Pop in a few cubes of chicken broth and you're good to go.  They melt really quickly in the pan, too.

Another use it to pop them in your crock pot along with meat and veggies.  There are lots of great uses for frozen cubes of liquid goodness, plus you are not wasting anything by throwing out the unused liquids.

Happy Cooking!!
